Turf Renovation
SCARIFYING (VERTI-CUTTING)
Scarifying removes unwanted surface material such as thatch, dead grass, moss and also cuts through the surface rooting grasses keeping the sward dense and reducing surface water retention.
The process is carried out using a mechanical rake with blades which make vertical cuts into the turf surface. This process should be carried out at least once every year and is often the first phase of pitch renovation and is carried out during the spring or autumn season while the grass is actively growing to reduce time. |
